Press release highlights:
- Pickett and Associates, a private surveying company, has upgraded to the Optech Galaxy.
An existing client of Teledyne Optech, Pickett has used their Optech Orion airborne lidar for transportation/transmission corridor surveys, asset management, wide-area aerial surveys, floodplain surveys, and more. “Our decision in 2012 to go with Optech and the Orion M integrated with the CS-10000 camera definitely proved to be the right choice for our business and we are excited about the added capabilities of the Galaxy system,” said John M. Clyatt, PSM, President of Pickett and Associates. “This system will enable us to serve our clients with the same extraordinary accuracies while significantly increasing detail with nearly double the collection rate. While the hardware technology improvements are incredible, the other real benefit is in the software and processing. Optech has made a huge stride with their SwathTRAK technology and the elimination of blind zones while flying in areas of substantial relief. Their planning software continues to improve and gives us the ability to efficiently plan both lidar and imagery missions in a single software environment.”
“We are extremely pleased to have the privilege of being Pickett’s preferred sensor provider,” said Michael Sitar, Teledyne Optech’s Airborne Business Manager. “Pickett’s decision to replace their Orion M300 with the new Galaxy sensor for both wide-area and asset mapping applications is an ideal choice, based on their desire for a sensor that continues to excel in a variety of application spaces. However, of even more significance are the tremendous efficiencies in production Pickett will realize, given Galaxy’s innovative SwathTRAK technology and its unique dynamic-FOV capability.”
