The Top Five Game-Changing Products of 2024

These products received the most votes in our contest held late last year and early in 2025.

As we approached the end of 2024 and entered 2025, Geo Week held a showcase for some of the top products across the geospatial, 3D, and AEC industries with our Game Changers Showcase. Featuring 38 products from some of the leading companies within these sectors, Geo Week News readers and other professionals had the opportunity to vote for their favorite of these products.

Now, with the dust having settled with the voting, we are able to announce the products that received the most votes. Below, you can find quick summaries of the top five vote-getters in our contest. If you’re interested in seeing the full list, you can find that here with links to more information about each individual product. Additionally, many of these products will be on display at next week’s Geo Week exhibition and conference, for which registration remains open. Without further ado, this year’s top five game-changing products.

5. Leica iCon trades, Hexagon

Product Information

Coming in at number five is a new layout solution released by Hexagon last year, the Leica iCon trades solution. Geo Week News had the opportunity to try out the solution with a hands-on demonstration at Intergeo last fall, and the solution was easy to use for even a non-expert. Using laser tracking technology borrowed from the company’s manufacturing division, the robotic layout tool locks to either a pen or a pole – depending on the size of the area – to simply lay out points and lines.

4. One Point Fits All System, Rothbucher Survey Systems

Product Information

This submission from Rothbucher Survey Systems assures precise measurements from a variety of equipment, serving the needs for many different surveying workflows. Compatible with total stations, lidar, SLAM, drones, and other tools, they note that the system maintains consistent XYZ coordinates across all these instruments. They note that the system is used by professionals in surveying, construction, infrastructure, and engineering.

3. Bimefy

Product Information

As the construction industry becomes inundated with more technological solutions, BIM has quickly become a standard part of the AEC workflow. With that has come other challenges, largely relating to collaboration and viewing this crucial information in simplified manners. Bimefy’s solution does just this, leveraging AI for a collaboration platform that combines multi-model viewing, document analysis, and computer vision for progress tracking, issue detection, and safety monitoring.

2. Scanfly DUO, 3DT Scanfly

Product Information

For our number two product in the game changers voting, we move over to the mobile mapping realm with 3DT Scanfly’s Scanfly DUO. This mobile mapping system features a multi-channel lidar head as well as a high-resolution 360-degree camera for detailed, colorized point clouds. As SLAM technology improves and lidar sensors shrink without sacrificing power, mobile mapping systems such as the Scanfly DUO are becoming more commonplace, granting the ability to capture data in large areas. 3DT Scanfly reports that urban planners and smart city specialists are using the DUO to create digital twins of cities, enabling data-driven decision-making, and sustainable development.

1. XenoBike, XenomatiX

Product Information

The winner of this year’s voting for the Geo Week Game Changers Showcase was the XenoBike, from XenomatiX. The company has long provided lidar solutions for mapping roadways and sideways, generally releasing systems that attach to cars for things like roadway inspection and other use cases. Last year, they released their new XenoBike, which takes that same concept but with the system being used on a four-wheel electric bike rather than a standard vehicle. This system allows for the scanning of areas like bike and pedestrian ways that larger vehicles can’t access.
