Two months after announcing two wireless handheld 3D scanners, Shining 3D is upgrading of one of its most popular products, the EinScan-Pro, offering not one but two next-gen products: the EinScan Pro 2X and 2X Plus.
Announced and released on the first day of formnext 2018, the EinScan Pro 2X and 2X Plus are lightweight and compact multifunctional handheld 3D scanners, making for easy travel as well as plug-and-play installation.
“Based on the feedback from thousands of users and the valuable input of SHINING 3D’s own R&D team, the EinScan Pro 2X & 2X Plus deliver substantial improvements on scan speed, accuracy, and function,” said Oscar Meza, VP of Global Sales at SHINING 3D.
Both scanners feature different modes (Handheld Rapid Scan, Handheld HD Scan, Fixed Scan, and Auto Scan), as well as multiple alignment modes, including feature alignment, markers alignment, turntable coded targets alignment, and manual alignment. With the Handheld Rapid Scan Mode, the 2X and 2X Plus can process up to 1,500,000 points per second (30 fps) and, with the help of markers, the volumetric accuracy is up to 0.05mm + 0.3mm/m. Under Fixed Scan and Auto Scan Mode, the single scan accuracy is up to 0.04 mm. Also, the minimum point distance is up to 0.2mm under Handheld Rapid Scan and Handheld HD Scan modes, to generate high-resolution 3D data.
Moreover, in a partnership with Siemens PLM Software, Shining 3D also released the Solid Edge Shining 3D Edition software, which is integrated with the new EinScan Pro 2X scanners. The software includes reverse engineering, generative design, and simulation together with a CAD tool–all in one platform.
“The integration of Solid Edge SHINING 3D Edition, EinScan 3D scanners, and 3D printer provides users a complete solution covering 3D digitizing – design & simulate – additive manufacture,” said Oscar Meza. “It will significantly improve the efficiency and quality of work for designers, engineers and researchers.”
Additionally, Shining 3D also announced the release of the new EXSCAN Pro software, which provides “a 3D scan process as simple as taking a video for all, new or experienced users”, and features a new operation mode that provides users with a faster scanning experience and allows them to set the resolution option afterward during the data processing. The software is compatible with standard file formats, such as STL, OBJ, PLY, ASC, 3MF and P3.
