The AEC industry, as we’ve covered numerous times over the last few years, is shedding its reputation as technological laggards and embracing new tools to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency throughout the sector. However, with those gains come new problems, particularly around keeping team members up-to-date on all of the advancements being made. As we covered recently in a conversation with Procore’s Sasha Reed, firms all around the world are looking for ways to upskill their staff to stay on the cutting edge and work through the other issues – most notably the workforce shortage – weighing down the sector.
At Geo Week 2025, Global eTraining is on hand at their booth – #544 – to showcase their platform to assist in this upskilling and training work for this industry. Geo Week News caught up with their Jessa Tracy to learn more about the company’s history, what their goals are, and how their platform works.
Tracy noted that the company was founded over 15 years ago by Susan and Holly Brattberg and Steve Wenzel, and the family-operated business provides numerous ways for AEC firms to upskill their staff in whatever way makes the most sense for their operations. The company is an Autodesk-approved reseller and trainer, with courses covering a variety of important topics for professionals in the industry including things like BIM and AI. They follow the VARK method of teaching, which accounts for all learning styles – visual, auditory, read/write, and kinetic.
What could be most intriguing about the platform for AEC firms is how customizable the system is, as Tracy relayed that firms have as much or as little control over how their courses are structured as possible. With the subscription, users have access to the company’s massive library of courses, and users can create their own courses to fill the specific needs within their company and allow their staff to train at the pace that makes the most sense for their operation.
Recently, they have added artificial intelligence into this work as well, giving even more runway to create a specialized learning platform. She told Geo Week News that this new capability allows users to input what they would like the course to focus on and what their employees should learn, and the system will create a course from there. Users then, of course, have the ability to go in and edit that course to tailor it exactly to their needs.
