3D Repo is a cloud-based platform for collaborative BIM work. The web-based application offers all users, in whatever location, to view and manage the project while on a call or in a meeting. That means stakeholders can review a BIM model together, interact with it, and tag it with potential problems.
The new release of the platform takes this one step further by adding a virtual reality function. Now, users can generate VR simulations based on existing 3D models and project data for use in training, safety applications, and project consultation.
3D Repo notes that its VR functionality differs from other VR solutions in that it does not require the simulation to be processed again each time a user accesses it. Instead, the VR simulation is processed once and stored on the cloud for remote access.
Dr Jozef Dobos, CEO of 3D Repo notes that this functionality is the first of a number of planned upgrades coming soon that will include improved open file format support, and better integration with software platforms.
